Entourage: Something’s Gotta Give

So yet another season of Entourage winds down to its final few episodes just when things start to get really interesting. All five key characters seem to be racing toward their breaking points in a way that reminds me of those carnival games where you shoot a water gun at a target to make the plastic racehorse move down the track.
Everybody place your bets!
In the first position, we’ve got Turtle and his constant string of entrepreneurial mishaps. It may look like he landed a solid investment, but who knows what that will lead to. After all, he is working for a sketchy Mexican kingpin. I hate to be a pessimist, but I’ve had a bad feeling about that whole deal from day one. I also hate tequila.
In the second position, we’ve got Drama who can’t catch a break even when he does catch a break. He can’t get the roles he wants but he doesn’t want the roles he gets, even if they’re written just for him. With only his own vanity to blame, I’m stuck between whether Drama is the least or most helpless member of the entourage
In third position is Ari, who has a special side race of his own happening. What will he ruin first – his marriage or his career? While one or the other seems almost inevitable, I can’t help but hope that mouth of his can get him out of scandals the same way it got him his position as the most powerful agent in Hollywood.

In fourth position is E, the glue that has held Vince together longer than he’s had an acting career. The best part of the latest episode was the way Vince spat off to E after being confronted about doing coke with Lavin. Considering E doesn’t technically need Vince at all, this could mean the end of both their friendship and business relationship.
And in fifth position is Vince, who’s gone completely bat shit crazy. Between the hard drugs, getting possessive over a porn star, busting Dana Gordon’s balls, and treating E like a minion, I know who I’m betting will blow first.
Personally, I think the show is moving towards a “turned tables” ending, where everyone but Vince is on their feet. At the beginning, Vince was the one to carry the weight of everyone else’s burdens by sharing his financial success, connections, and opportunities. Now that he’s on a clear downward spiral, I’m curious to see who will stick it out for him and who will abandon ship.
