Reason #248 why I hate the CW: Veronica Mars cancellation still stings

I mean, sure, you brought me Gossip Girl and Vampire Diaries. But for the love of god, why did you cancel Veronica Mars before its time? I’ve managed to overlook the whole 7th Heaven/Everwood fiasco of ’06 (it was a rough patch there Dawn Ostroff), but this is just too much. Every time I watch you debut some sure to be cancelled series, I cringe thinking that the television world would be so much better if for once you considered quality over ratings.

Now, I’m sure this seems a little dated. But as I’m amidst my requisite yearly viewing of VM on Netflix, I simply can’t help it. Kristen Bell is purely fantastic as the snarky yet damaged teen detective. The show was fresh and clever, and even though its third season wasn’t as great as the first two it was still light-years ahead of most of the crap on television. I found myself longing to know what would have happened had the show continued past its premature end. When I searched “Veronica Mars Season 4” on Youtube, it was purely out of desperation. I was pleasantly surprised to find a DVD extra, the first 12 minutes of what could have been as Veronica takes on the FBI. So now, I share it with you, in case you’re like me and miss these kinds of things when they’re first released.

Would you have watched this Veronica Mars season four? Are you still mourning this televisual loss?
