Who doesn’t know who Vera Wang is?

America’s Next Top Model

So what usually happens when you partner up people who are in a competition where everyone is competing?  A lot of drama, that’s what.   It was a bit genius to have the model pairs pick out outfits for each other with the winner getting the opportunity to present at the Grammys.  You can’t really blame Chelsea for being disgruntled with Anne.  Anne had no idea how to pick an outfit and chose a strange dress several sizes too large for Chelsea, while Chelsea had to listen to the judges complimenting Anne on how her outfit suited her.  Really, the contest winner should have been the model who chose the best outfit for her partner, not who looked the best as obviously it would be too easy to sabotage your partner.  For example, despite Liz’s request for a long flowing skirt, she found herself onstage in a pair of sequin pants, courtesy of her partner.  Luckily for her, she rocked the look and in my opinion she is the model who looks the most rock n’ roll to fit in with the sometimes raucous Grammy show.  It wasn’t enough to give her the win though.

You would think with the number of years “America’s Top Model” has been on the air, that the contestants would have a pretty good idea of just what’s in store for them on the show.  Then how do you explain models who are caught like deer in headlights when they must portray the fashion world’s most famous designers for a photo shoot?  If you plan to enter the world of modeling it’s pretty clear that you should know something about the industry, so for a model to not have a clue who Vera Wang is, well that’s just criminal.  Fortunately, justice prevailed as this model was chosen to leave the show.
